SATURDAY'S .MATCHES. COLUMBIA v. CAPITOL. Tlig match between Columbia and Capitol on the Basin Reserve on Saturday resulted in a win for the former by 6 goals to 2 goals. The result was a surprising reversal of form, a3 Capitol, so far, were the only unbeaten team in the competition. From face-off, Baker obtained possession and set an attack on the Capitol goal. From a scries of passing rushes between Leydon, Grant, and Fama, the Capitol goalkeeper (Montgomery) was hard pressed to defend his goal, tho quarter ending in one goal being scored by Leydon. After changing ends, the Capitol set up a strong attack in which Renkin brothers and Andrews were prominent. They were, however, repulsed by solid play on tho part of Columbia's defence, Bishop, Baker, and Tiller standing out for good work. Two more goals were registered by Columbia in this quarter, after some pretty passing by Grant, Fama, Ryan, and Leydon, tho last-nam. Ed finding tho neb on both occasions. J. Renkin put in a, long shot for Capitol, which Thomas fumbled, and the spell ended 3 to 1 in favour of Columbia.

On resuming at half-time, Columbia took chargo of tho ball from the face-off, passing between ,Grant and Fama ending in a shot which beat Montgomery. It was only sound defensive work at this stage by Surge and Norm that kept the score down. Capitol had made several spirited attempts in the last quarter to equalise matters, but found O'Leary a thorn in their side. Bishop (who played his best game to date), Baker, Halliwell, and Tiller also stood out for good defensive work. A pass from Grant to Leydon, then on to Ryan, enabled tho latter, who was showing splendid form on his first appearance, to put in a hot shot which non-plussed Montgomery. This was quickly followed by a goal from Fama's crosse, and the match ended as above.

KELBURN v. WELLINGTON.

From tho face-off Wellington secured and attacked well, Firth, Bowen, and B Lee showing Up, but Kelburu defended strongly and relieved. Give-and-take play was tho order, Kelburn's shooting being erratic. Wellington scored first, but the blues soon equalised, and the first quarter saw Wellington 2, Kelburn 1. There was some strenuous play, in the second quarter, Kelburn attacking mbstly and drew level. At half-time the score was 2 all. On resuming Kelburn had matters well in hand and added 4 goals. In the last quarter the reds put some ginger into it, but it was of no avail, each side notching one, and the game ended : Kelburn 7, Wellington 3.
