In the elimination trials between the yachts desirous of tho honour of defending tho America Cup, the Resolute defeated tho Vanitie by throe miles, and the Defiance by three and a-half miles in a thirty-milea contest. There waa typical Sandy Hook weather. NEW YORK, 12th July. The Vanitie defeated the Defiance by j a small margin, the Resolute being completely outclassed.
