CONSTABLES & CHINESE
TWO MEMBERS OF SYDNEY FORCE IN TROUBLE. SERIOUsTcHARGE. (By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright.) SYDNEY. 23rd June. Two constables were charged at the Police Court to-day with demanding (with menaces) a sum of money from a Chinaman, with intent to steal. The evidence was to the effect that the constables drove in a cab in the early hours of the morning to the house of the 'Chinaman, in Alexandria, a, Biibuvb, and threatened to break dowiv the door if they were not admitted. They stated that they were looking fon two young girls, and demanded 40b, saying they would lock up, tho girls ifi the money was not forthcoming. E*en« tuftlly the Chinaman gave- tho cbn* stables 9s. Both the accused were committed' for trial, bail being allowed in the sum of £80 each*
