CENTENARY OF LORD'S CRICKET GROUND
DISTINGUISHED GATHERING OF CRICKETERS. (By Telegraph. -Press Association.— Copyriebt.) (Received June 24, 2.45 p.m.) ' LONDON, 23rd June. A distinguished gathering of cricketers assembled at a banquet at the Hotel Cecil to celebrate the centenary of Lord's. Mr. Walter Long, M.P., proposed the toast " Imperial Cricket," remarking that the game had strengthened the bonds of Empire. A congratulatory message was received from Australia.
