AUCKLAND EXHIBITION
objection to a statement. financialTsuccess. (DI TELEORAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND. This Day. Objection is taken to the statement made_ at the meeting of Wonderland shareholders that Wonderland had carried the Auckland Exhibition on its back. This statement is refuted by the Exhibition authorities, who declare that when the day of settlement has been teached the public will have every reason to he satisfieaT with the financial result. The secretary states that the attendant to date has totalled nearly 50,000 people., and that the receipts for the first three months totalled £62,000. It was perfectly ridiculous, therefore, "or anyone to state that the Exhibition had not been distinctly successful— financially or otherwise. The guarantors would not be called on for a farthing in connection with the financing of the Exhibition, and already about £7000 had been spent in beautifying the grounds and building a permanent kiosk in the Domain.
