DISABLED STEAMER
CHRISTCHURCH, 31st March. The small steamer Cygnet, which broke her tail shaft_ near Kaikotmt on Sunday morning/ arrived ,'at Lyttelton at 2.30 o'clock this morning, in tow of the John Anderson. The sea was calm throughout, I and an aveiage speed of four knots was [ maintained for the trip,' which occupied I about 20 hours. After discharging her I shipment of sheep, the Cygnet was i placed upon the Patent Slip. A new I shaft will require to be fitted, and it i.s probable that another propeller will be reeded. It, is expected that the Cygnet j will be ready 'to put to sea by Thursday evening, when she will leave for liaikoura.
