LIFE SAVING LADIES SEAGULL AMATEUR CLUB.
A squad of lady members of the Sea« gull Swimming Club, trained by Miss Olyye Arthur, holder of the Royal Lifo Saving Society's award of merit, and lion, instructor's certificate, presented themselves for examination in Hfcsaving Ht the Te Aro Baths last Saturday afternoon. The examination commit \ tec consisted of Messrs. G. H. Noal ami !A. A. Sommevville. Two voting ladie.u Misses Bridget Gibbs nnd Daisy Bolton, were successful in gaining their awaid of merit, and Miss Mary Nolan has ,\t>l j to complete her examination for tho pro liutency certificate. Misses Gibbs and Bolton fvvc the tioxt two huties in Wellington to gain this award, Miss Arthur having passed when Mr. Willinm Hemty was visiting nnd examining in New Zealand in 1910. This is the second highest award of the society, nvid is a somewhat difficult task to perform j one feat is to swim six hundred yards fully clothed " - v '
