THE PRIME MINISTER IN CENTRAL OTAGO,
(BT mBGRAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION.) ALEXANDRA, 29th March. On Saturday the Prime Minister visited a number of districts in Central Ofcago, reaching Alexandra in the evening. He received many deputations, tho majority of which urged the necessity for assisting and extending the fruit-growing industry. Mr. Masscy assured the deputations that the Government intended to do all in its power to promote closer settlement and to further in every way possible the fruit-growing industry, not ohly in Otago, but throughout tlio Do minion. He referred to the growing importance of 'the industry, and predicted a large export trade in apples, particularly to the East Coast of South AmericaT
