CATHOLIC MISSION
The attendance throughout yesterday at the mission services a£ St. Joseph's Church showed no signs of diminution, in spite of the inclement weather, and it was estimated that 850 received Holy Communion. Subsequently a Communion Breakfast was held under _the auspices of the H.A.C.B.S. There wa-s an attendance of about 300 consisting of repTesentativee-of the Wellington, Thorndon, and Newtown, and all suburban branches of the society, the New Zealand Catholic Federation, the St. Vincent tie Paul Society,' and the Sacred Heart Society. Mr. J. J. L. Burke, president of the Wellington Dibtrict of the H.A.C.B.S. was in the chair, and there were aleo present His Grace Arcb.bis.hop O'Shea, the Very Rev. Father O'Connell, S.M. (past president of the Christchurch Branch of the society and Superior of the Marat Missionary Fathers), and the Rev. .Fathers M'Carthy and Taylor, S.M. The proceedings were of a very pleasant description, • and closed with the singing of "Faith of Our Fathers," and cheers for Archbishop O'Shea, tho Missionary Fathers, and the chairman. This evening the Rev. Father M'Ca.rthy will preach on "Inft-in-perance." The services throughout the day at St. Mary of the Angele were attended by crowded congregations.
