CHRISTCHURCH, 27th March. Th« wheat market continue* quiet, but prices are firm. The offerings are not large, and continue to come in slowly, but when prices can be agreed upon sales can bo effected, as there is a fair demand. The range of prices is 3s 6d to 3s 7d for Tuscan, but the iatter figure can only bo obtained for very prime sample. Hunters is quoted a* 3s 7d to 3s Bd, and Pearl at 3s 8d at country stations, and 3s 9d hah been paid for Pearl when delivered. Oats ,-a.re btill offering very slowly, and there is a. ready sale to fill North Island orders, vrhich is the only outlet at present. Prices aro without change. In other Jines of grain produce there a*o no changes to note. The potato market is dull, as Auckland reports that the local supplies will last for another few weeks, and there k a good crop in the Wellington district yet to draw upon. Auckland merchants are therefore not inclined *to do forward business ; £2 10a to £2 15s is still being offered at country stations. Onions are a little firmer, and are quoted afi £3 15s to £4 at country stations.
