Wheat.— The market is dull, with little enquiry either consumptive or speculative, but there is no pressure to sell. There are excellent prospects of a large winter crop in America, and the weather is favourable to the Indian harvest. Twenty-one shillings and sixpence is quoted for new New Zealand and A Grade Gartons. Beans — The inarkot is neglected. New Zealand, nominally 35s 6d to 36s 6d per quarter of 5041b. Peas. — The market is more active. Forty-five shillings to 45s 9d per quarter of 5041b c.i.f. is the price quoted for New Zealand maples, March-April shipment. COLONIAL AND OTHER PRODUCE. Butter. — The market is flat. Danish is unchanged at 122s to 1245. Colonial is neglected. Choicest Australian, salted, 106s to 108s, unsalted 110s to 112s, secondaries lpOs to 102s. Sales are very slow, especially for unsalted, which is too plentiful. Choicest New Zealand salted 110s, unsalted 116s. Cheese.— The market is dull. New Zealand white 62, coloured 645. Bacon. — The market is steady. A few Australian flitches sold for 60s to 62s per cwt. Sugar. — German beet sugar, 88 per cent, net tifcre, is quoted at 9s 3d per cwt (Id up), • first marks granulated lls Wd per ewt, f.o.b. Hamburg (^d up). Bradford Wool.— There is more enquiry. Sixty-fours, 30s ; super, 29jd ; common 60*8, 28id; 56's, 23d; 50's, 20Ad ; 46's, 17±d; 40's, 16£ d. THE METAL MARKETS. Copper.— On the spot, £64 18s 9d per ton; at three months, £65 6s 3d.
