ANARCHIST MEMBER ELECTED.
Amilcare Cipriani, the Anarchist, has been elected as a member of Parliament for the vacant division in Milan by a majority of over 4000 votes, though only 17,000 out of 33,000 electors went to the poll. The news of the election occasioned riotous demonstrations both in Milan and Rome. This triumph of the forces of anarchy in favour of a candidate who has three assassinations to his record is regarded in Italy as a serious symptom of the trend of the working class. Probably sentiment largely swayed the choice of the electors, since Cipriani, who has been living in exile in Paris for many years, is a. veteian Ga.ribaldian, who fought at the battle of San Marti 110. As Cipriani forfeited his civil rights in consequence of his condemnation at the Ancona trial, his election will almost certainly be annulled, unless the sentence should be reversed by a fresh trial or a , Royal pardon gianted. In the meantime, according to the opinion of legal experts, the champion of anarchy is at liberty to re-enter Italy, take the Parliamentary oath, and participate in the sittings 0! the Chamber qI Dopmias like *u£ gthcr ffiembttt
