INVOLVING MORTGAGES
Tiie hearing of an action involving the mortgages on a certain property in the Upper Hutt Valley was commenced at the Supreme Court to-day, before his Honour the Chief Justice (Sir Robert Stout), the plaintiff being William Chas. Alfred Dimock, and the defendants Mary Ana Wilkins, wife of George Wilkine, and the Public Trustee, as manager of her estate. The case was one in which plaintiff made application to have a mortgage set aside. Defendant was the owner of a valuable property and borrowed various gums of money from the plaintiff until she became heavily involved, and plaintiff then acquired the property. The defence showed that the agreement to sell held good and sought to retain the land for the benefit of Mrs. Wilkins. Mr. A. A. S. Menteath appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr. J. W. Macdonald for the Pnblio Trustee, and Mr. F. E. Kelly for Mrs. Wilkins. The caee is proce<xling.
