HOCKEY UNITED CLUB.

Mr. W. J. Organ occupied the chair ' at the annual meeting of the United Hockey Club, held last evening. ' In commenting on the annual report, the chairman remarked that there was some satisfaction in the fact that they had no debts to start the season with. He expressed his confidence in the coming season as far as the club was concerned, and also gave it as his opinion that the association would have a better season than ever before.; Twenty-three active members and honorary members were elected to the club. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year : — President, Mr. W. E. Pearson (re-elected) ; vice-presidents. Messrs. Ronaldson, Luckie, Richardson, and Millar (re-elected) ; club captain, Mr. R. L. Thompson ; management committee, Messrs. Richards, L. Boyd, M'Eldovyney ; senior selection committee, Messrs. R. Thompson, M'Eldowney, and L. Boyd ; junior selection committee, Messrs. H. Thornton, Millar, and F. Stewart ; delegates to Wellington Association. Messrs. W. T. Richards and R. L. Thompson; secretary, Mr. S. Millar ; treasurer, Mr. T. A. Stewart ; entertainment committee, Messrs. *. H. M'Gregor, Andrews, Thornton, M'Eldowney, and Dwyer. Messrs. Organ and C. Hickson were elected life members of the club. Some discussion -took place on the question of entering two senior and two third-clasi elevens. The matter was held over until after the practice on Saturday next. WELLINGTON CLUB. At the sixteenth annual meeting of the Wellington Hockey Club, held last evening, Mr. A. H. Griffiths presided. There was some discussion in regard to the club continuing its gymnasium class, it being eventually decided to leave the matter in the hands of the Management Committee. Mr. A. H. Griffiths, who is leaving shortly for America, was accorded a vote of thanks for his past services to the club. The opening day was fixed for 4th Aprii. The officers elected for the ensuing year Were as follow : — President, Mr. J. H. B. Coates ; vice-presidents, Messrs. D. R. Menzies and A. S. Biss ; club captain, Mr. W. fi. At the annual meeting of the Hereawa Wednesday Club, held last night, Mr. J. jC. Cusack presided. Six new members were elected. The annual report and balance-sheet, which showed a satisfactory financial position, were adopted. It was decided to enter one team in the competition. The secretary was given power to arrange a match at Easter. An insurance scheme for players was agreed to. Further, it was decided to commence practice next Wednesday. Officers were elected as follow : — Patron, Mr. J. Cusack; president, Mr. F. J. Caterer; vice-presidents, Dr. Cameron, Messrs. A. G. Truscott, C. Henderson, L. Woolly, W. Churchill, and T.
