OTAKI, This Day. Constable Satherley is at present investigating a caEe that is shrouded in mystery. A younj* woman, employed at the Otaki Hospital, was on Monday found gagged and bound with rope, and with a sheet over her head. She appears to remember nothing of the occurrence. A sovereign is said to have been taken from her purse, but. strangely, silver in her possession was not touched. When found she appeared to be suffering greatly from over-excitement. Athol son of Mr. Frank Perm, was thrown from a horse on Tuesday last, and rendered semi-unoonscious. t|e was conveyed 'to his home, where he is now making good progress. A party of huntsmen, at Reikorangi recently killed nearly fifty opossums in the course of a few days. Dr. Hassell, who has been on a visit to this district, returned to Porirua on Tuesday last.
