GOLF WAIWETU CLUB ANNUAL MEETING.

The report presented at the annual meeting of the Waiwetu Golf Club stated that the season had been a very successful one. The roll now stood at 41 men and 39 ladies. A lease of part of the Hutt Park and a club house building had been secured on reasonable terms from the trustees for a period of five years, and the links had been rcn- ' dered more accessible by the completion j of the new bridge and its approaches. The committee had found it necessary, in order to avoid undue congestion, to improve the links, to alter the course heretofore played, and to construct several' new greens. The men's cham.pionship was won by Mr. I. M. Dawson," Mr.' Jackson being runner-up. The ladies' championship was won by Miss Turton. after play off in the final with Miss M. Gaynor, Miss Turton also won the ladies' silver button _ competition. Other winners of competitions i were: Silver button Btroke, Miss Bodmin 5 Mr. Jackson's trophy for stroke, Miss A. Gaynor ; stroke competitions for first year's players, Miss Hishon and Miss Rothschild; men's stroke silver buttons, I. L. Simpson and H. Collett ; men's bogey silver buttons, 1?. W. Jackson ; captain's trophy, Macaskill, jun. The report wa-s adopted. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows : —President, Mr. R. C. Kirk (re-elected) ; captafn, Mr. Chaffey; secretary, Mr. Whitehead ; treasurer, Mr. Judd : executive, Messrs. Simpson, Macaskill, Pringle, and Pollock.
