REPORTED RESIGNATIONS
(BT TELEGRAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION.) ' CHRISTCHURCH, 24th March. It -was stated on good authority tonight that several Imperial officers' connected with the New Zealand Defence Department are handing in their resignations as officers in the British Army on account of the Ulster tiouble. One officer staled to a reporter that he was doing exactly the same as he would if he were at Home, and he could not see any reason for acting differently ow* ing to the fact of his being out here. The resignations have nothing to do with New Zealand appointments. The statement that Imperial officers in New Zealand are handing in their resignations on account of the trouble in Ulster is not taken seriously in Wei' lington. Certainly there is no official confirmation of the statement. It is pointed out that if Imperial officers were ordered Home they would have ample opportunities of taking any action they might think necessary before they, became involved in the complications of the Army in Ulster.
