FLOOD WATERS GOING DOWN. LOSS oITbttEEJ?. (»I TELEGRAPH.— PRKSS ASSOCIATION.) GISBORNE, This Day. The floods in the Waipaoa River are subsiding. Beyond breaking the Public Works temporary bridge, no damage was done. At Motu the Hood was the highest for years. A report, froir^ Port Awanui states that the Waiapu i~ver is in heavy. Hood, causing loss of sheep. The extent of the datnage is not yet known. The water is nearly up to the decking of the Waiapu bridge, both approaches to \v*ich have been washed away. The river is now goiitg down.
