BROOKLYN DEBATING SOCIETY
A meeting convened for_ihe purpose of i forming a literary and debating eociety , was how last night in tho Brooklyn Baptist Classroom. The Rev. W. Hinloii ' occupied the chair. It wa6 agreed that the society be known as tho Brooklyn Literary and Debating Society. Mr, J. HooJo was elected secretary pro tern. It , was decided at the next meeting to elect officers. The latter part of the evening 3 will bo devoted to a mock mayoral elec- > tion. Mrs. Henry Hawkins Mr. H. • Stockbridge, and the bocrotary will be - the candidates.
