REDISTRIBUTION OF SEATS
SELECT COMMITTEE TO BE SET UP. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.—Copyright.) LONDON, sth March. The IIon«e of Commons agreed to Mr. Edgar Jones's (Liberal) motion that a select -committee consider the question of the redistribution of seats. Tho lliglit Hon. \Walter T ong (Unionist) appealed to the Government to institute an independent enquiry to provent the present suggestion of gerrymandered constituencies. The Right lloi>. Herbert Samuel said that the Government was willing to appoint a Minister to the committee if the Opposition would join in an' effort to formulate a lair scheme. The Government hoped to settle iho redistribution question before * the general election of 1915 if the Parliament ra-n its normal comse.
