■ — ♦ ' — Mr. W. G. Riddcll, S.M., presided at tha Magistrate's Court tw-day. Annio Quin pleaded guilty to a charge of drunkenness, and was fined 10s, 111 dofault 48 hours' imprisonment. Four i firstoffenders, similarly charged, were loniehtly dealt with. Geo Guie, charged with assaulting Kathleen yon Cant, was remanded for a week, on the application of Mr. J. F. "W Dicksoii, who appeared for defendant. Bail 1 was fixed at £40, or two sureties of £20 each. ' Lena Parker, who did not appear, charged with using obscene language in a publio place, was fined 40s, in default seven , days' imprisonment. Thomas Sutherland, charged with not providing a sufficient alarm bell on his bicycle was ordered to pay 7s court costs. Peter Johnson was ordered to pay a similar amount for am offence of tho same kind. T. Parnell, who did not appear, was charged with not keeping a tail light on his motor car on. Lambton-quay. He was fined 5s and 7s costs. Robert Edwin Saville, charged with riding a motor bicycle without having the registration mark affixed, was ordered to pay 7s costs. On a similar charge, Allen Smith, who did not appear, was fined 10s, in default forty-eight hours imprisonment. Frederick Lewis Stapleton was charged with using insulting language to Charles Bertram James on 28th February. Defendant, was ordered to pay 183 Court costs, £1 Is solicitor's fee, and 8s cofets of two witnesses, in default seven days' imprisonment, and to enter into a bond of £10 to keep the peace. Mr. ll.' F., O'Leary appeared for defendant." A prohibition order was granted for one year in the Wellington and Hutt districts against Annie Dutton.
