SYDNEY STRIKE SITUATION UNION AGREEMENT TWO RETAIL BUTCHERS SIGN IT. (By Telegraph.— Presi Association.— Copjrfgkt.) (ReceiVed February 28, 10.25 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The strike position is unaltered. Two, retail butchers have < agreed to sign the union agreement, and will open to-day. SYDNEY, 27th February. As a result of further interviews by tho Cabinet Committee with both sides, the Minister for Justice (Mr. Hall) declared the outlook to be a little more hopeful. The latest development is the opening of a unionist shop at Pyrmont, and another at Darlinghurst. This was made possible by the Hon. Mr. Flowers granting the strikers a limited killing space at Glebe Island. There are growing indications of restiveness amongst some of the suburban butchers, who have so far supported the master butchers in keeping the shops closed. This is the outcome of the unionist shops starting and the popularity of the meat auctions in North Sydney. Master butchers continue to increase the depots, and altogether fair supplies are now available from one source and another. The famine prices of 'fish and other substitutes are easing. Mr. Holman (the Premier) says he is well satisfied with the progress of the negotiations towards the settlement of the butchers' strike. He is not,, yet in a position to make a public statement, bub hopes to be able to do 60 in a day or two.
