METHODIST CONFERENCE

(IT lELEQRAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION.) DUNEDIN, 27th February. The Methodist Conference resumed this morning. Several notices of motion were tabled, and a large amount of correspondence was received, including communications from the Earl of Liverpool and Bishop _ Nevill, and also from the Methodist Conferences of Great Britain and Australia. Tho customary committees of details were set up, and special committees to consider home missions, the supernumerary fund, and the revision of the Book of Laws. The following laymen were appointed from their respective districts to act with an equal number of ministers on the Stationing Committee : Auckland. Messrs. J. Hodgson and J. Veale; South Auckland, Mr. G. Densem ; Taranaki and Wanganui, Messrs. S. Bennett and T. P Hughson ; Hawk^s Bay and Manawatu, Messrs. W. G. Pearce and A. Fennell ; Wellington, Afcssrs. H. T. H. Grave, F. Perm, and the Hon. C. M. Luke; Nelson, Messrs. W. D. Pike and E. H. Penny ; North Canterbury. Messrs. W. Dobbs and J. 11. Blackwell ; South Canterbury, Messrs. W. T. Irwin and R. Graybumj Otago, Messrs. W. King and E. Rosevear; Southland. Messrs. J. 3. Wesley and A. S. Froggatt. All the standing committees met during the afternoon. The Stationing Committee will net meet until tho committees on circuits and home missions have reported their findings on circuit adjustments dnd ministerial staffing to the conference.

Telegraphic advice has been received by Mr. R. A. Simpson, secretary of the Wellington Storemen's Union, that a Storemen's Union has been formed in Auckland, and registration is being applied for. Mr. Simpson will probably leave for the North next week to assist in drawing up conditions sought for^.
