LETTERPRESS PRINTERS' UNION
.Tbo half-yearly general meeting of the Wellington Letterpress Printers, Litho'* graphorg, and Paper-Cutters' Union was held hi the Trades Hall, Cuba-street, oft Saturday evening. Mr. H. Withington, president, occupied tho ohair. After discussion, the half-yearly report and bal-ance-sheet wore adopted, but reference was hiftdeto the amount stahdihg to arrears, arisihg from the neglect of ohe or two, collectors. The oleotion of officers took place, every position being contested, and resulted .is follows:— Mr. J. L. Burns, president; Mr. V. Astill, vice-pre-sident ; Mr. J. O'Connor, secretary ; Mr. A. Burns, treasurer. Other members completing the board of management are : Messrs. B. Durnett, T. Ff. Blair, and W. J. Mummery (re-elected). Tho retiring president, Mr. H. Withington, did not seek re-election owing to the possibility of cutters being transferred, aha was ao> corded, amid cheers, a hearty v>te of thanks.
