PICNIC AT DAY'S BAY
Tho employees of George and Kersley, Ltd., were entertained by tho directors to a picnic at Day's Bay on Saturday afternoon. About 120 sat down to luncheon. Advaritago was taken of the occasion to bid bon voyage to Mr. F. H. Mather, tho manager, who loaves on Wednesday for a trip to England. On behalf of tho directors, Mr. W. I-I. George preßehted Mr. Mather with a handsome suit case. Tho gift from the staff was aj pair of binoculars, .which was handed over by Mr. H. W. Kersley. An interesting sports' programme was carried through during the afternoon. Tho following wore the winners s —Men's open handioap, Brightmore 1, Rabono, 2; ladies open handicap, Miss Holloway 1, Miss Hehtlerson 2; boys under 18 race, Bell Ij girls under 18 race, Miss Herzog 1 ; apple and tub raco (men), Ashworth 1 ; egg and spoon race (ladies), Miss Herzog, 1 ; men's sack race. Wall, 1 ; ladies' sack race, Miss Cairns, 1 ; married men's race, F.» H. Mather, 1; three-logged race (ladles), Misses M'Lachlan and Stick, 1 ; three-legged race (men), Ashworth and Grant, 1; whistling raco, Rabone, 1; kising race, Wilson, 1. The Economic championship raco was won by V. Brightmore.
