The Incorporated Society of Meat Importers' Smithfield market quotations for the undermentioned classes of frozen meat are based on actual sales of not less than one hundred carcases of mutton or lamb or twenty-five quarters of beef of fair average quality. The quotations are not for selected lines, but for parcels fairly representative of the bulk of the shipments now on the market. The prices which follow are on the average a farthing per lb more than the values ex ship,' this difference representing an average cost in expense, handling, conveyance, and selling tho meat: — Mutton. — North Island, ordinary, 4£d; Australian, light and heavy, 4 5-16 d; River Plate, light 4id, heavy 4|d; Australian ewes, 4d. Lamb.— Australian, best, fair, and inferior, 5 11-16dj River Plate, first s!d, second 63d. Beef.— Australian, ox fores 4d, ox hinds 4 5-16 d; River Plate, ox fores 4d, ox hinds 4id; River Plate, ohilled tores 4 l-16d, chilled hinds 4 13-16 d. LONDON MARKETS. Rabbits.— The market is steady, and prices aro unchanged. Rabbitskins.— At thd aales 3080 were offered, and 2667 Were sold, at an average decline of lid. Furriers' sorts frequently declined 10 per cent. Beans. — Quiet. Demand is good for Zealand at £3 7s 6d. Store Peas. — Firm. Copra.— The market is dull, with few buyers. South Sea, in bags, £29. Antimony, 2e 9d. Galvanised iron, £16 5s and £14 ss; angle steel, 109s. Tram rails, 112s 6d. Wire netting, 62i per cent, and 2£ to 5 per cent, off fist. Cement, 5s 8d and 5s I§<l. Cotton. — January-February, 6.81gd. Hemp. — Market dull. January-March, £24 10s. Rubber.— Para, 3s Id per lb; plantation, 24 3d; smoked, 2a 4d. METAL MARKET. Lead.— lmports, 17,770 tons; exports, 4700 tons. Spelter, £21 18s per ton. CONSOLS. Imperial Consols are quoted at £72 7s 6d. BREADSTUFF'S. (Received January 19, 8.20 a.m.) LONDON, 18th January. - The wheat market is easier. Australian is l^d lower, owing to large Australian shipments and an increase in the final official estimate of tho Canadian crop to 29,000,000 quarters. The wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom totals, 2,395,000 quarters; for the Continent, 1,825,000: Atlantic shipments, 719,000: Pacific, nil. The total shipments to Europe during the week amounted to 1,840,000 quarters, including 361,000 Australasian.
