A CHINESE FRACAS
— MAN BADLY INJURED. A serious fracas is repotted og having taken place to-« Jay on the British-owned collier Harflete, which is at piesent lying at Miramar Wharf. The vessel arrived a few days ago, coal-laden, from New- ■ castle, and carries a Chinese crow. It appears that, after an altercation aboard, two of the Celestials — ono armed ■vvilh a crowbar and the other with a hammer — attacked another man of their own nationality named Ah Pong, and inflicted very severe injuries upon him. The man was taken to the Hospital, whore it was ascertained that liis condition was serious, his head being badly cut about and the symptoms pointing to internal injuries. The two men who made the assault, it is understood, have been arrested.
