The seat of the fire on. the New Zealand ( Shipping Company's steamer Rakaia, en route to Cardiff, wheat laden, is on the starboard side of No. 3 hold. There was also another outbreak in the lower crosshead of the bunker. The Clayton patent fire-extinguisher is being used, and the men are "working with smoke-proof helmets. The hold contained 15,000 bags of wheat, a good deal of which, including 500 damaged bags, has been discharged into the hulks. The actual damage is unknown as yet.
