Advices have been received that the American-Hawaiian Sbeam Ship Lin* is seriously considering the question of extending its trade to Australia, in view of the opening of the Panama Canal. LOSS OF A RIVER STEAMER FOURTEEN OF THE CREW IMPRISONED. SEVEN PASSENGERS DROWNED. (By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright.) NEW YORK, 20th- August. A message from Keobuk (Iowa) reports that the river steamer Henry Bosse turned turtle in the Mississippi. Fourteen of the crew were imprisoned below the waterline. Their fate is unknown. A heavy storm was raging at the time. Seven of the passengers escaped death, while seven were caught in the cabin and drowned like rats. The captain flung himself into the river 'when the deck-house parted. As the vessel capsized, a man and a woman released themselves from under a boat and reached the surface, but were . both drowned before the rescuing boats arrived. \ " Geo.
