FIRE ON A STEAMER
THE RAKAIA SEAT OF OUTBREAK NOT YET DISCOVERED. (By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright.) (Received August 20, 9,40 a.m.) PERTH, Thiß Day. The steamer Rakaia (5628 tons gross, belonging to the New Zealand Shipping Company), which was en route to Cardiff, wheat lade;*, arrived at Albany for bunkering purposes, with a fire in No. 3 hold. The work of discharging cargo into lighters was immediately commenced. Smoke renders the work very difficult. The actual seat of the fire has not been located, and it is impoesile yet to estimate the damage.
