INSULTING A FLAG
CANADIANS AND THE STARS AND STRIPES. By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright. OTTAWA, sth July. A repetition of the American flag incident occurred at Moose Jaw, where hundreds of people attacked a young man who was waving the Stars and Stripes. They- beat him and rolled the flag in the mud. A crowd of Americans then attempted to march through, the streets carrying their flags. The police were then called out and stopped the parade. [A message published on Saturday stated : — An angry mob at Winnipeg trampled the American flag in Che dust. when a waiter flourished the Stars and Strrpes before a Winnipeg regiment returning from manoeuvres, civilians interposed while the soldiers were requesting the waiter to cease flourishing the flag. 'A riot followed, during which many persons were injured. The police eventually restored order.]
