A crowd of Americans then attempted to march through, the streets carrying their flags. The police were then called out and stopped the parade. [A message published on Saturday stated : — An angry mob at Winnipeg trampled the American flag in Che dust. when a waiter flourished the Stars and Strrpes before a Winnipeg regiment returning from manoeuvres, civilians interposed while the soldiers were requesting the waiter to cease flourishing the flag.
