MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Four inebriates, against whom no convictions had been recorded during the past six months, were leniently dealt with by Mr. Riddell, S.M., this morning. One man, who had been remanded fo>' curative treatment, was ordered to pay 17s_6d expenses incurred and £1 Is for medical fees,; in default, three days' imprisonment. Another inebriate was ordered to pay a medical fee of 10s 6d.
At the meeting of the stewards of the Wairarapa Racing Club held this week, Messrs. W. E. Bidwill and 0. C. Cooper were nominated to represent the country clubs of the Wellington district on the Racing Conference. Messrs W. E. Bidwill and J. W. Card were nominated as delegates to the Wellington District Committee. Mr. J. W. Card was elected to fill the position of judge, rendered vacant by the resignation of Mr. W. H. Hartgill. A motion was passed supporting, the resolution of protest carried by the Tuapeka County Jockey Club against the action of the Racing Conference in deleting Easter Saturday t from the 1914 Racine Calendar.
