• COMMENT ON UNITY PROPOSALS. 'A meeting of the Advisory Board of the New Zealand Employers' Federation was held yesterday. Very great pleasure was "expressed at the response to. the ' circular asking for subscriptions to the. organising defence fund scheme of the federation. It was decided to recommend the federation to appoint, as additional trustees to the fund (in addition to Mr. W. H. Bennett, federation trustee), three prominent Wellington business men to 'assist in the t administration of- the fund. INDUSTRIAL MENACE." The federation is circularising employers, drawing attention to 'the Unity proposals of Labour, in the following terms : — "Attached 1 hereto will be found a copy of the Unity proposals providing for inj dusfcrial and political organisation of the workers, x and the' amalgamation of the two great • Workers' organisations — the New Zealand federation of Labour and the United Labour Party. Consideration of the scheme shows it to be intensely socialistic in character, and that it definitely aimd at the destruction of the employing class in New Zealand.' " If the amalgamation of the two bodies mentioned is brought about it will represent the greatest industrial menace to the devel6pment of trade arid industry that New Zealand has ever seen. "That being the case, th« call for the better organisation s of employers of labour and those having any stake or interest in the country is more imperative than eveT. and it is hoped that those affected Avill loyally, and liberally support the organising and defence fund scheme of the New Zealand Employees' Federation, so as to eneure i capable and effective work being done to protect the interests of the employing class against the aggression of the ' f6rces that are arrayed against it." -'
