SERIOUS CHARGE WITHDRAWN

AUCKLAND, 26th February, Frederick John Craddock, who was arrested in Auckland last week on a charge of having Btolen a number of records of the Craddock Hardware Company, appeared in the Police Court today. Leave was asked to withdraw the charge. It was stated that th<s( directors had made investigations and had been satisfied there was no criminal intent on the part of accused. In fact, since he had disappeared from Christchurch with the books he had brought them up to date. Worry from overwork was stated to be the caiise of his conduct. The charge was therefore withdrawn and Craddock discharged.
