SATURDAY HALF-HOLIDAY

WANGANUI, 26th February. Local chop assistants had a large and enthusiastic meeting in favour of the Saturday half-holiday for Wanganui. A representative from the employers' committee explained the movement and the general desire for Saturday, and said it rested with the employees to assist in the movement, seeing that ' the holiday was intended for their benefit.
