AUCKLAND DISSATISFIED WITH PROPOSED FEDERATION AUCKLAND, 25th February. Tho recent amalgamation of the United Labour Party, headed by Professor Mills, with the New Zealand Federation of Labour does not meet with the approval of the Auckland branch, of the old New Zealand Labour Party, and at a meeting held kit eve;iing tha following recommeatUtionts from tho executive were adopted : — (1) That as the now constituted United Labour party is now syndicalist and revolutionary in its general trend of policy, and, as publicly announced, has decided 16 join the syndicalist Federation oi' Labour ; (2) _ The recommendation previously . submitted re this branch stepping into tho breach and reorganising the New Zealand Labour P&rty is again brought forwaid, and correspondence from 'Wariganui, Cliristchurcn, Napier, and elsewhere leads this executive to believe that dissatisfaction with the ' United Labour Party is widespread, and that the time is fully ripe to re-establish the New Zealand Labour Party ; (3) That the United Labour Party is now openly opposing the systematic , training of citizens ot New Zealand in the art of defence : The work of organising the new party is to proceed immediately, it being decided that, the newly-elected iocal committee should be constituted a national committee, and the services of Mr. Walsh secured a3 organiser for an immediate campaign. It was also decided to open all future meetings to the press.
