The principal winners in the Otago Match, seven shots At 500 yatds and seven ot 600 yards, wero'i Riflemen Ward (Christchurch), 67j Steenßon (Glenavy), Duthie (Chrifitchurch), Liddle (Lincoln), 66 each ; Eiby, Guiney, Batt (Christchurch), 65. Wcstland Match, ten shois at 600 yards.-— Riflemen Guinoy, Duthie, and Sandford (Christchurch), 46 each; Lieut. Charlton (Otago), 48. Charlton won tho cup for the aggregato ill the Otago «?nd Westland matches. King's Match : Sandford, 282 ; Ward, 282; Duthie, 276; Walker. 276; Halton, 275; Lieut. Charlton, 270 i Guihoy, 269; Crotty, 260; Barker, 268; Turnbull, 265; Batt, 263; Bradshaw, <262: Swinard, 262; Cameron, 262. Sandford and Ward tied with a total aggregate of 282, and had to shoofc off five "times at 700 yards, which distance had to be substituted for 900 yards, boeause the target % the longer range had not been received from town in time. Sandford, in the shoot-off, scored 10. Ward scored 9. Sandford i>ut a bull on the .wrong target with his last shot, but he still led by one point. Rifleman R. Duthie wins Lieut.-Col. the Hon. R. Heaton Rhodes's Cup «?»rrrt j. w. Nixon wins the Headquarters Cup. Lieut/. Charlton wins ..tiiut. (Jol. tho Hon..G. J. Smith's Cup. Rifleman H. G. Ward wins the Geo. G. Stead Cup. Bugler Moss wins the Geo. G. Stead Cup for the highest aggregate made by a competitor under- twenty-one years of age. Rifleman E. F. Sandford wins the Stewart Dawson Cup for the highest aggregate in the King\ Prize. The. winners of trophies are as follow ;— Lieut.-Col. the Hon. G, J. Smith's Cup— Lieut. Ofaarlton (14th Regiment), 139. LieuVCol. the .Hon. R. H. Heaton Rhodea's trophy— Rifleman' R. Duthie (Christchurch R. 0.), 170. The late Mr. Geo. G. Stead's Cup (highest tyro matches, Nos. 1, 2, 3, and 4)— Rifleman H. G. Ward (Ohristchurch R.C.), 248. The late Mr.* Geo. G. Stead's Cup (under 21 years)— Bugler E. R. Moss (13th Regiment), 223. A meeting of representatives of the rifle dubs was held to-day, It w&b decided to" incorporate the Sohth Island Rifle Association with the newly-formed Canterbury Military District Rifle Association.
