SYDNEY'S GOVERNMENT HOUSE
LORD DENMAN'S EVICTION. APPLICATION loR AN INJUNCTION. By Telegraph.— Press Associatlpn.— Copyright. SYDNEY, 24th February. A specially-constituted tribunal, consisting of the Chief Justice and three Judges, has commenced the hearing of the injunction application filed on behalf of the Citizens Committee, in connection with the alleged eviction of the Governor-General (Lord Denman) and the taking over of Sydney Government House by tho State Government. The case bristles with technical difficulties. Tho main question involved is whether tho Government has the power to occupy for State purposes a property • which, it 13 claimed, has been dedicated as the residenco of the King's representative. Counsel for the Government has raised the point that though used as a residence for the Governor-Genoral there had been actually no dedication for that purpose. The proceedings are likely to be protracted.
