UNITED STATES DECISION

MYLIUS AND CASTRO. By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright. WASHINGTON, 22nd February. Tho United Stales Government has decided to contest tho cases of Mylius (the slanderer of King George) and Castro (ex-President of Venezuela) in the highest Courts. (.Last week Judge Noyes released Mylius on appeal, declining to hold that criminal libel involved moral turpitude, as contemplated in the immigration laws. Judge Noyes wished it to be understood that he did not wish to minimise the offence of which Mylius was really guilty. Mylius declared that his release was "a slap at the aristocracy of England, and against all forms of monarchy. ' ' Cipriano Castro has been fighting hard for entry into the United States, but has failed to penetrate beyond Ellis Island, the immigration station. The special board of enquiry that considered his case found that he was not entitled to enter the United States, on the ground that he had admitted the commission of a crime and felony involving moral turpitude. Ho was questioned about murders in Venezuela during the heydey of his power. His answers wero such that the board found he had committed frequent perjury by pretending to he ignorant of matters concerning which a man of his intelligence and holding the position which he did undoubtedly possessed knowledge. He appealed to Secretary of Commerce Nigel against tho decision.
