Cotton. — February-Maroh, 6.47 d per lb. Hemp. — Tho market is quiet, and tending downward. Jute. — February-March, £26 10s. Rubber. — Market nominal, at 3s lid per lb. (Received February 24, 10 a.m.) BRfiADSTUFFS. LONDON, 23rd February. The wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom totals 3,220,000 quarters; for the Continent, 2,750,000 quarters; Atlantio shipments, 155,000; Pacific, 30,000. Tho total shipments to Europe during the week amounted to 1,445,000 quarters, including 160,000 from Australasia. 'fhtf wheat market is. quiet, but firm, notwithstanding liberal Argentine and Australian shipments; 38s to 38s 6d is asked for Australian January-February, and 39s for a bad steamer cargo (January) ; 3?s 9d has been paid £or a parcel in March. FROZEN MEAT. LONDON, 22nd February. The Incorporated Society of Meat Importers' Smithfield market quotations for the undermentioned classes of frozen Ornat are based on actual sales of not less than one hundred carcases of mutton oi* lamb, or twenty-five quarters of boef of fnir average ' quality. The quotations ara not for selected lines, but for parcels fairly representative of the bulk of tha shipments now on the market. Tho prices which follow are on the average a Farthing pet lb more than the values ex dhip, this difference representing tho average cost in expense, handling, cou'veyance, and selling the meat:~Mutton.—North Island, best, 4 9-16 d; ordinary, 4|d. Australian, light, 4d; heavy, 3|d. River Plate, heavy, 4£d. New Zealand ewes, 3§d; Australian ewes, 3 9-16 d. Lambs. — Canterbury, light, 7d; medium, 7d. North Island, ordinary, 6id ; selected, 6 7-16 d. Australian, best, S|d; fair, S|d; inferior, s^d. Beef.—New Zealand, ox fores, 3id; ox hinds, 3sd. Australian, ox fores, 3 3-16 d; ox hinds, 3 9-16 d. River Plate, frozen fores, 3&d; frozen hinds, 3 11-l6d; chilled fores, 3|d; chilled hinds, s£d. RABBITS. Rabbits are unchanged. Large sorts aro firm, but young rabbits aro dull of sale.
