The attendance constituted a record for a Cup meeting, fully 31,000 being preaent during the day. The course was in perfect condition, and the times generally were good. The totalisator handled £64,479, as against £48,002 10s for the correspond.igg/'ay last year. Theuinvestments gn the Cup totalled £11,402, which is a record for New Zealand. The newly-ap-pointed stipendiary stewards were present, but their duties were very light, there being no objectionable features.
