The Board of Trade Teturns show that tho imports for November increased by £5,601,059, and exports by £3,371,996 as compared with the previous November. (Received December 9, 10 a.m.) EARTHQUAKE IN QUEENSLAND. BRISBANE, This Day. There was a strong earth tremor at Gladstone on Saturday morning. DROWNED IN THE QUICKSANDS. LONDON, 7th December. A Brussels message says that a boy of eighteen was caught in the quicksands at Santindue and was drowned, after a eoven-hottrs' struggle, in the presence of a powerless younger brother. FIRE IN SYDNEY. SYDNEY, Bth December. The damage done by the fire at Harrington's, in George-street, is £25,000, largely insured.. The brigade did'splendid work, and managed to save the adjoining premises, which were only slightly damaged. CHINA AND MONGOLIA. ST. PETERSBURG, ?th December. The Government is informed that China has decided not to send troops to Mongolia. (Received December 9, 1.30 p.m.) " /YEAR'S IMPRISONMENT FOR MURDERER. LISBON, Bth December. Taveira, the murderer of Mr. Douglas, a missionary, has been sentenced to a year's military imprisonment.
