PLUCKY RESCUE OF THREE PERSONS
FIREMEN'S PERILOUS PLIGHT. By Telegraph.— Press AB&oelftUon.—Copyrigtafc. (Received November 7, 9.25 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. There were two fire* in the city early this morning. The top floors of the Young Sheep Shearing Company's premises, in Springstreet, • were gutted. A fireman named Finn pluckily rescued a man, a woman, and a child, clad in their night-clothes, from the roof of a threatened building. The damage is heavy. The second outbreak was at Kromley House, in Kent-street, occupied by various firms. The damage done is estimated at £6000. An 80ft ladder, on which were three firemen, collapsed, but luckily the broken portion rested against a Wall till the men escaped from their perilous position.
