SUNDAY SCHOOL ANNIVERSARIES
' The celebration of the anniversary of the Webb-street Primitive Methodist" Sunday Schol was continued last evening when the tea and annual meeting were held. The Rev! W. S. Pottar presided, the speakers being Rev. J. Dawson and Mr. S. G. Hoare, both of whom emphasised the importance of Sunday School work, and particularly the need for improved methods. The annual report and revenue account presented by the secretary (Mr. E. Dawson) showed a satisfactory position, the balance in hand being £1 16s Bd. Special reference was made to the approaching union of tho Metho-' dist Churches in New Zealand, and a great stimulus tq Sunday School work Was predicted as a result of the union. T,he winner of the gold medal presented by the superintendent (Mr. E. Newham) was gained by Master Gordon Spencer. The programing included anniversary music by the scholars and choir, the conductor being Mr. E. Mairs. Recitations were given by Miss Walker, Mr. A. Jenkins, Masters Frank' Kertt, and Eddie Tonka. The Sunday School anniversary services at the Terrace Congregational Church were continued last evening. After tea in the schoolroom, a publio 1 meeting was held in the church, when the scholars, assisted by the choir and an orchestra, conducted by Mr. W. J. Lankshear, repeated a number of tho special hymns sung on Sunday. The annual report waß presented by. the superintendent (Mr. P. Meadowcroft) and the frizes won by the scholars during the yfear were disc tributed. The chair was occupied by the Rev. J. Ileed Glasson. Mr. Horace GHunt presided at the organ.
