LOAN POLL AT THE HUTT
BOTH PROPOSALS CARRIED. Very little interest was evinced by ratepayers at Lower Hutt yesterday in the. two loan proposals of , the Borough Council: The bad weather no doubt acted as a deterrent to many, and out of 2000 persons on the roll only 240 exercised their privileges. The two loan proposals, both of which were carried, are:— (l) of £2230 for the completion of the sewage scheme and other improvements; and (2) of -£1270 for adding to the height of the reservoir. The voting was as follows : — For A g aiu "st Majority £2230 loan ... 135 101 34 £1270 loan ... 135 102 33 ' There were four informal votes on the £2230 proposal, and three on the other. The completion of the drainage scheme will be pushed ahead immediately, while the other work will be undertaken as soon as* possible.
