PREVENTION OF CRUELTY
Mr. J. SSt. t Jameson * presided .over the usual meeting of the Society 'for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals held last evening. It was decided to write to all branches of the society in New Zealand suggesting .the formation 1 of an incorporated N,ew Zealand Society, tb be registered under the Unclassified Societies Act, and to meet in conference annually. A lengthy discussion regarding the licensing, and overloading of carts arose out of the inspector! s report. No action was taken) however, as the police were believed to have the matter in hand. A committee,' cbnsistihg of the president, Mr. Webb, Mrs. Christie, and the secretary, was set up to make arrangements tor the 'annual meeting of the society.
