VICE-REGAL. The following received invitations to luncheon at Government House on Friday : — Count de Cisneros, Countess de Cisneros, Mr. and Mrs. A. Myers. His Excellency the Governor has arranged to pay a visit to Taranaki early next month. Mr. J. F. Atkins, manager in New Zealand for Messrs. Walker and Halli returned to Wellington yesterday from a visit to Australia. Mr. J. P. Nicoll and Mr. E. W. G. Coleridge, of Wellington, have received notice that they have been elected Licentiates of the Royal Institute of British Architects. Mr. John Baillie, who haa just returned from Auckland, will open a watercolour collection in Christchurch, and will remain there about three weeks. He leaves for England next month. Mr. H. G. Mayer, vice-president of the Swifts Football Club, who is to be married at St. Peter's Church next Monday, was presented by members of the club last night with a cake dish and a toast rack, both of solid silver. Mr. P. H. Atward, formerly of Grimsby, England, and latterly in the employ of the New Zealand Trawling Company, has been appointed fish salesman and manager-in-charge of the Municipal Fish Market. Mr. Alward is an authority on fißh and fishing methods. A presentation in the form of a framed photograph of the late General Booth was received by the Petone High School Committee last night from the local Salvation Army Corps. The donors were thanked for their gift, which is to be hung in the corridor of the main school.
