A BRAVE MOTHERS ORDEAL
On 7th August, a terrible experience befell Mrs. Watson, of Bushbury, near Wolverhampton, whose son wae drowned before her eye 6 while she was rescuing another boy. Young Wateon and a playmate had launched a rude raft on a pool near a farmhouse, and both boys fell off the raft into the water. Mrs. Watson and her twelve-year-old daughter hurried to the pool, and the girl plunged into the water to save her brother, but her efforts were unsuccessful. Mrs. Watson waded into the water until only her head remained above the pool's surface, and succeeded in saving her son's companion. Before she could grasp her own boy, however, he sank, and was drowned.
