SERIOUS ROAD ACCIDENT
CYCLIST COLLIDES WITH •MOTOR. [Bt TBLBOBAtH— PEKSS ASSOCIAI'ION.] FEILDING, This Day. Yesterday evening, about 6 o'clock, a serious accident occurred near Waituna. E. Durrant, in a motor-car, saw E. Pearson, a farmer, cycling towards him down a somewhat steep decline. Pearson was carrying a can of milk. Though the, motor gave the cyclist most of the road, Pearson swerved into the car, struck the mudguard, and pitched through the glass wind-break. He was terribly cut and smashed, but was conscious when picked up, and said his knee must have struck the can and caused the bicycle to turn. Pearson was taken to Palmerston Hospital.
In a paragraph published the other day it was stated that fat lamb would be on th© market this week. A correspondent writes to state that one Wellington firm — the Wairarapa Butchery Company— has been selling this season's ltuub during the post two week*
