CRICKET.
The annual meeting of the St. 'David's Cricket Club, Petone, was held on Wednesday evening, Mr. Haggett presiding. There was a, good attendance, and several new members were proposed. The report congratulated the club on its showing last year, and expressed .confidence that this year it would do eveti better. Th© financial statement, too, all things considered, was most satisfactory. The batting averages for l»Bt season were headed by Messrs. Powell and Rowley, and the bowling by Mr. J M'Connell. The thanka 9f the club were given to the patroh, Mr. 'J. G. W." Aitken, and to th© vice-presidents, for their support last year. Tke following officers were elected: — 'Patron, Mr. J. G. W. Aitken ; vice-patron, Mr. Kerr ; presi* dent, Rev. A. Thomson; .vice-presidents, Messrs. H. L. Arcus, J. Hardy, A. Gorrie, T. M. Wilford, J. W. M'Ewan, Stewart, H. E. H*ggett, J. Cotton, E. Lodder, M'lntyre; secretary, Mr. B. M'Connell; treasurer, Mr. H. Miller; auditor, Mr. H. Green; management committee, Messrs. Thomson,- D. "Wilson, B. Robinson, J. M'Oonnell: delegate to Cricket Association, Mr. B. M'Connell.
